Melvin Rodgers, has
been a Career Fire fighter for the Boro of
Roselle Fire Department for 7 years. Prior to
being a Fire fighter he was a Military police
for the United States Air Force where he served
4 years. He enjoys helping people whenever he is
needed. He also enjoy mentoring to young boys
and girls to try to inspire them to become
future fire fighters. Melvin has been the
recipient of numerous certificates of
appreciation as well 2006 EMS valor award for
Saving the life of a premature infant, 2010
Group Effort Valor award where he and 4 other
members of his platoon rescued a mother and
daughter who became trapped in there home during
an early morning house fire on December 31 2009.
He also received a Certificate of Merit from
"The Two Hundred Club of Union County" for the
2009 morning house fire. While performing my
active duties at the fire house i continue to be
the best dad to my children so that one of them
or maybe both can follow my foot steps.
